◣ WELCOME ◢
This terminal accesses a personal archive of my physical media. I've been steadily collecting since 1999. Here you can see every DVD, Blu-Ray, 4K disc, and box set in my collection, catalogued and indexed for posterity using an Excel sheet that I created to keep track and supplemented by data from The Movie Database (TMDB). TMDB provides the posters, cast manifests, synopses, and trailers. I own a few duplicates of the same movie so those are grouped together. If I own three editions of a film across different formats and box sets, you will only see one card with an edition count. Click any card for the full breakdown.
◆ HOW TO NAVIGATE
- ⌂ HOME — the front desk. A "Vault Pick of the Day" that rotates every 24 hours — and each month it's themed around a category (Horror in October, Holidays in December, and so on), so the daily pick fits the season. You'll also find the latest titles I've added to the vault, my most recent watches, and my latest dispatch.
- ⊙ COLLECTION — the full catalog. Filter by type, genre, watched status, reviews, or my rating — including a "Vault Favorites" shortcut for everything I've rated 4 or 5 stars. More filters (format, boutique label, box set, studio) live under a toggle. Switch to "BOX SETS" to see titles grouped by their physical set. I thought it important to track not just which movies I own, but what editions and whether they came as part of a pack. Tap any title's SHARE button to send someone a direct link straight to that movie.
- ◫ SHOWCASE — the display case. A visual gallery of the newest additions to the vault — the box art and packaging for whatever's most recently landed on the shelf.
-
✄ CUTTING ROOM — the writing desk, and the way into what I write and curate. Four things live here:
- ▦ MOVIE TALK — longer-form posts. Essays, retrospectives, and whatever else I feel like writing about movies and/or physical media. Search them, filter by featured film, and share a direct link to any entry. They might also become videos down the line.
- ✎ REVIEWS — reviews on movies in my collection.
- ▣ LOG — my watch history. I log anytime I watch something, whether or not it's in my collection, with the date, a rating, and a brief opinion.
- ★ LISTS — themed collections I've put together. Favorite westerns, movie night picks, that kind of thing.
- ▤ STATS — analytics on the collection. Format breakdown, top genres, oldest and newest titles, total runtime, and a trivia panel you can flip between VAULT (what's on the shelf) and WATCHED (what I've actually seen).
◆ WHAT MY RATINGS MEAN
When you see "Tito's Rating" on a title, here's the scale I'm using. It's about how I feel, not critical consensus.
- ★★★★★ — All-time favorite. Would watch anytime. Titles I hold dear regardless of what the critics say.
- ★★★★☆ — Highly respected. Very rewatchable. Objectively solid movies.
- ★★★☆☆ — I liked it. Might stop on it if it's on TV — though I'm not always in the mood for it.
- ★★☆☆☆ — Very mid. Watched once, was entertained, not likely to revisit.
- ★☆☆☆☆ — I hated it.
— No streaming. No rentals. Just shelves. //END_TRANSMISSION
